🎬 Special Effects Makeup: Monsters, Wounds & More!
Ever wonder how movies and theater make scars, bruises, creepy creatures, and gruesome gashes look so real? Now it’s your turn to learn the tricks of the trade!
In this hands-on Special Effects Makeup Workshop, participants will explore the art of transforming an ordinary face or arm into something straight out of a movie. Learn techniques for creating realistic-looking cuts, scars, bruises, wounds, disfigurements, and prosthetic effects, then use makeup, texture, color, and a little imagination to bring monsters, creatures, spooky characters, and unfortunate “victims” to life.
Participants will get the chance to experiment with different special effects materials and techniques while learning how to create convincing effects for theater, film, and Halloween.
Whether you want to create a hideous monster, a mysterious creature, or a character who looks like they’ve had a VERY bad day, this workshop is all about getting creative, getting creepy, and making the unbelievable look frighteningly real!
👻 Open to students in 3rd grade and up.
No previous makeup or special effects experience needed. Just bring your imagination and your best monster face!
👁️ Creepy Creations: Halloween Workshop 👻
Love Halloween as much as we do? Get ready to craft something creepy, kooky, and just a little bit weird!
In this hands-on Halloween workshop, students will turn ordinary craft supplies into spook-tacular decorations worthy of a haunted house. We’ll start by decorating our own creepy planter, then “grow” a wonderfully weird eyeball plant, complete with twisting stems and watchful eyes that seem to follow you around the room! 👀🌱
Next we will create gauzy ghosts that look like they’re floating through the air. They’re surprisingly easy to make and frighteningly fun!
Students will leave with their handmade Halloween creations ready to haunt their homes all October long.
🎃 Open to students in Grades 3 & up.
All supplies are included. Just bring your creativity and your love of all things Halloween!
Dances & Socials
Kick off the new school year with The Barn’s Back-to-School 5th Grade Social! 🎉
5th graders are invited to hang out with friends, meet new classmates, and celebrate the start of the school year. DJ Bry will be spinning the latest hits all night, plus there will be game tables, arcade games, and plenty of space to dance and socialize.
Our café will be open with candy, chips, drinks, and other snacks available for purchase.

Calling all 6th graders! Get ready for a frighteningly fun night at The Barn’s 6th Grade Graveyard Dance!
The Barn is transforming into a spooky graveyard for a Halloween night packed with music, dancing, games, prizes, and plenty of creepy fun! Come dressed in your favorite Halloween costume or just come ready to hang out with friends and have a great time.
🎧 DJ Bry will be spinning favorite hits and keeping the dance floor alive... or undead... all night long!
🕹️ Need a break from dancing? Head over to our Game Tables for fun challenges and friendly competition. We’ll also have special prizes throughout the night, including prizes for dancers who really wake the dead!
🍭 Feeling a little bone-tired? Stop by the MadBarn Café, where snacks, sweets, drinks, and fun novelties will be available for purchase.
